Default Y axis servo drive for MultiCam MG204

Hello, I am having a heck of a time trying to find a replacement servo motor for a MG 204 by MultiCam. The motor is a MINARIK, the part number I got from Multicam was #501-20-151-001 the almost unreadable tag on the motor looks like it might actually be a 501-20-151-020. Not sure which is right or what any of the specs are, any help in finding a replacement would be much appreciated!

I had the same problem with a similar MultiCam machine that had Pacific Scientific servos installed, was unable to find replacement servos. The fix was to simply replace all of the motors with current production servos. Your motors look like a standard NEMA 34 frame, so very available with a lot of options available.

Have you called Minarik to see what they might be able to find.

My MG has the same motors. They are 8 pole BLDC and completely unobtanium. I've spent months looking for them. I called Minarik without success.

Mine has Hengstler encoders which are no longer available also.

If your machine is like mine they are being driven by Electro-Craft Bru-Series (AB 1398) drives which are capable of driving a bunch of readily available Allen Bradley motors. I've asked for help picking the right one here on CNCzone several times over the years, but if anybody knows anything about the AB stuff they won't admit it. My best guess would be the N-series motors, but it's only a guess.

    Buy my Multicam!
