    Default Spindle orientation on VM-22

Is there a way to finetune the spindle orientation for tool changes in the parameters or is it a sensor that needs to be adjusted? I need to rotate my orientation for tool changes about 15-20 degrees from where it is currently parking so the tool changer can load the CAT 40 holders without binding up.

    hello
On my VM17 , spindle orientation is mechanical .
a bearing at the end of a air cylinder rod block the spindle shaft
you can move/rotate the air cylinder mounting to adjust the spindle orientation .

Hi The VM-22 should have electronic orient. the procedure to set it would depend on the type of spindle drive it has. and may require a hand held digital operator.(MR5 drives )
The easy way to get it done today is to: orient the spindle with a M19 command, then G32 ( z to tool change height) loosen the motor and move the belt and spindle into the correct position.( couple of teeth on the spindle pulley.
Crank the swing arm in with the bolt head on top of the tool changer motor, bring it in close and check the alignment. crank the bolt back out to the "parked" position.
    repeat if needed.
