X PLANNING NOT COMING OUT LEVEL

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of testing a new ATC 1325 Router.
It was purchased from China, and while the price was good, support is horrible. I am hoping that somebody can help figure out how to solve this problem.
I set up a program to fly cut the spillboard with a 2" fly cutter and 5 mm overlap, running parallel paths on the X axis.
That is when I noticed the problem: there are steps in plane.
My guess is that the spindle is not aligned perpendicularly to the XY-plane, more specifically off by 0.25 deg. ( TAN(0.25deg) = 0.2/45 ).

Is my diagnosis correct, and if so, how can I fix this?

I would say your analysis is correct, the spindle is not aligned with the axis.

Here is how I measured mine. I took a welding rod and bent it as shown in the picture, mounted it in the collet. Then used paper as a feeler gauge under the tip. I shimmed the motor mount and adjusted the mounting as needed to get it in alignment with the table. The circle you can swing is large enough that any minor error out at the tip of the welding rod would not be noticeable in use.

Interesting way of extending the range for measurement. Little bit concerned about the sag of the rod, but I give it a try tomorrow.

You need to tram the spindle. Make or buy a tram gauge an adjust the spindle and this will go away. Lots of videos on YouTube that will show you how to tram spindle
