Bob,
Your more than welcome to visit however it might not be easy to listen to my long winded babble.
I have extra earplugs on hand just in case.
Jeff...
Patience and perseverance have a magical effect before which difficulties disappear and obstacles vanish.
I can get the same way or so I have been told by my kids!
So this is dead in the water huh?

I believe there is a hackerspace/CNC workshop at Science and Industry.
Museum of Science and Industry | Dream It, Design It, Fab It!
Other than that I guess we are herding cats.
Might have to make that happen soon. Need some ideas for this miserable sx3.

I actually got to talk to Jeff A for a while one day. Good guy who took the time to B.S. with me. This was years ago now, wow how fast 5 years goes by. Jeff, hope you got the new shop set up at your new house.
Anyways, I'm interested in meeting up too. The whole maker space as been intriguing me to do something down here in Northwest Indiana. I live right next to the illinois border so I'm only 20 minutes from the South Loop. I figure if I'm buying all these machines I may as well let others use them and maybe get a little money back on my investments. Just have to find a decent space to rent. My family is starting to think I'm just "collecting" tools lol. My first dip into CNC will probably be the X-carve or Shapeoko
Would anybody be interested in fabricating a bronze/aluminium flange for a lens? If it could be done I'm thinking of doing it in a larger scale.
