Question Mazak EIA G84 Tapping Cycle Question

I am running a Mazak 700 Nexus II machine.
I am programming with EIA files and am currently working on drilling + tapping with GCode instead of using the Mazatrol.
    Tapping with a 3/8-16 Tap.
    Using a Rigid tapping cycle.
The code I am using is as follows:

    G20
    T1M06
    G00 G90 G58 X-13.5269 Y-4.2127 S300 M8
    G43 Z1.0000 H1 D1 M3
    G84 G99 R0.5000 Z-1.000 F0.0625 X-13.5269 Y-4.2127
    X-9.9392
    G80
    M30

    This code WORKS.

However, I am not understanding why the Feedrate is required to be in feed / revolution instead of in/min.
    I have not used a G95 command.
It does not work when I try and use a feedrate of RPM x pitch - I get an error of bad feed rate for tapping.

Does the G84 default to feed/rev unless otherwise specified?
I have double checked that there is no modal command in use that would set the machine to feed/rev.

Again, this code works, I am just sort of new and wanting to understand.

    Thanks

    Default

The feed is like that due to synchronized tapping. The feed stays the same regardless of the speed because it's synched to the rpm. Much easier to program...no changing feed when you change rpm.
