using mastercam x6 thermwood cnc wood router
i realize mastercam x6 is very old. however, we only cut wood all the way through. no need to upgrade as it works perfectly for our need.
would like to get some help on a entry motion cutting 2 sheets of 3/4 plywood/osb all the way through.
when using a 3/8 3 flute carbide bit, with a plunge cut, the bit usually snaps. a 1/2 inch bit works good with plunge cut.
using a 45 degree ramp with the 3/8 bit works, however, when cutting a stright line i do not want to have to go back and clean out the ramp area
after a long cut.
what i need to do is ramp in, backup to take out the ramp area, and then continue the straight cut.
enclosed is a example
thanks for the help

thank your for answering.
sorry i did not explain myself fully. what i meant to explain was that once it had ramped to depth, the bit would reverse then and take out the ramp and then reverse and continue on the cut.
so it would basicly take out the ramp area in the first couple of inches after ramping to depth.
the reason for this is i am using a down shear bit and the cut wood/swarf stays in the cut to help prevent movement on common line cutting.
thanks
