You are trying to select solid faces ( selectable only by 1-click method) .... you probably don't any true surfaces onscreen
When selecting surfaces for a toolpath,I am trying to select a group of surfaces within a window but its not selecting any. I dont want to have to select all 100+ surfaces individually. In X9 i am using the window command with the selection being "in" but it never highlights any surfaces. When i click on the activate solid selection then i can only choose 1 surface at a time. What am i missing? Is there a Z level filter that only selects surfaces in a range or something like this?
Thanks
Eric

I guess they are solid faces. Its from a solid i imported from solidworks. Is there a better way to do this?
Change the color of your selections first, ihen select by color grouping to load for cut.
Been doing this too long
Simplest method.... go... file open.... set the Solidworks filetype & set "Options" to import as "Trimmed surfaces"
Other method is to.... "create".... "surfaces from solid".... adjust the solid selection to either Face ( 1-click = 1 face ) or Body ( 1-click = entire solid )
( suggest you place surfaces on a different color & level )

So you kow as O Mastercam 2018 you can do window selection of solid face just like surfaces.
As for selection you have been offered a few thoughts that will for sure. you can also create a tool boundary over the area you want to surface and select the whole model and go.
