Default Load custom cnc for simulate

Hi im completely new in cnc wolrd, yesterday i got Mastercam 2017 for work with mach3 i have 2 questions:

1ª I’m designing a desktop 5 axis cnc in stl format and i would like to know if i can import this cnc stl file into Mastercam and set all the axis movement for simulate the milling work on my own cnc for after export the gcode for this same machine

2ª how can i set the mach3 post code downloaded from artsoft into mastercam 2017?

    Thanks!

Mastercam will not accept gcode. You cannot simulate toolpaths generated outside of Mastercam.

How do you justify purchasing a seat of Mastercam for a machine that runs on mach3?

My idea is to put my stl files on Solidworks export it into Mastercam and in mastercam generate the g-code to send it to Mach3
The thing is that i have the stl design of my own cnc 5 axis and i want to put this stl cnc inside Mastercam for do simulation with the machine which i’m going to work when i want to mill the pieces

Design in Solidworks -> Generate g-code and milling strategy in Mastercam -> control the cnc with Mach3

yes that is the normal way
but MC2017 takes solidworks files directly. You dont have to use a stl model.

As far as machine structure simulation, you configure the machine inside Mastercam, to some extent. But this is not a necessity to get your part programmed.

So you know some tutorial about the configuration of the machine?

I would like to be oriented either about how to simulate the milling process with same parameters (5 axis cnc) and about how to export from Mastercam to mach3 and after how to run the milling program
Thank you very much for you attention!
