Default Has anyone seen these anodizing blemishes before?

Hey all. I just got some spun 7075 parts anodized and am very unhappy with the finish. Nearly all of them have these lines on them, and I'm trying to figure out what caused them. Has anybody seen anything like this before?

    Thanks!

It looks like where they attached the electrical contact

Could be contact marks from the racks from anodizing. If that part doesn't have an ID hole they can put the spring loaded clips into to hold it during the process, they will have to grip it somehow from the outside. The anodized coating doesn't grow correctly where the contacts are made.

If these lines were more across rather than straight I'd have to say yes.

I had black lines appearing on uncolored anodisation.

I think what happened then was that I got a bit of material (10 mm rod) that had the transition between two aluminium billets within a long length of material and the lines appearing between the first billet and the next.

If you squeeze two 25 kilo billets through a 10 mm hole you'd get quite a long transition...

7075 is not a good anodizing material, does your parts have a hole in them, in general it looks to be a bad job, they need stripping and redoing
