I have not had much luck cleaning them. I've been replacing mine for some time. Recently I cleaned it with a little compressed air can and reinstalled them. So far they work fine. Shouldn't be that complex actually, just clean each component carefully with the lubricant cleaner an abrasive pad, light brush or rag. The abrasive pad or brush will help break it loose with the cleaner if there is dirt or grime stuck in an area. Otherwise, the soft rag works well with the cleaner.
