Default Live tooling on Okuma LB25 IIM

Does anyone use live tooling on their lathe for profiling?
I can't get the finish anywhere near decent enough.
I'm wondering if the vdi held live tooling isn't designed for this application and was more suited to drilling, tapping and reaming in the z as the rigidity may not be there.

For information I used a short indexible cutter with varying depths of cut, speeds and feeds on an aluminium billet.

    Thanks

Should leave a reasonable finish, hows the turret alignment? If it's off, the milling drive system may not be lined up causing some binding.

Alignment is good. I'm just thinking that the bearings in the tool is worn. I might need to get it opened up and checked out.
