Ok I have worked out they are Solid Edge files. Can someone with Solid Edge see if they can open it please? I tried but was not successful.

I successfully opened the .par files in Fusion 360. Was not able to open the .asm files directly, but those could be recreated in Fusion 360 by assembling the parts.

I have found out the files were most likely created in an academic version of Solid Edge which cannot be opened in the regular version.
