    Default HOW TO SLOW DOWN THE ATC ARM ON VA55 FANUC CONTROLS HITACHI SEIKI MACHINE

    Hi, Does anyone know how to slow down the ATC arm on a VA55 Hitachi Seiki machine? The controls are Fanuc, can't read what series, but is old.

    The maximum tool weight should not exceed 3kg, according to the machine handbook. I have one tool that should be OK (BT30ER32-60/20mm insert mill) that weighs roughly 2-2.5kg. The problem, I feel, is that the 20mm must have a length of 110mm, which distributes the majority of the tool weight far from where the ATC arm is holding the tool. It may be enough to toss the tool of the arm during the tool-changing swing. I was hoping to discover a "Heavy tool" flag somewhere in the tool options, but it appears that this machine lacks this feature.
