Default Mach3 VM XP Works, but step motors turn very slowly

    Hello,
I have a working CNC using mach3 on window XP, everything works perfectly, but I find it hard to go about, I taught maybe I can run widows XP within a newer windows version.
So, I have installed today everything again on a virtual machine using VMware.
It does work, but not as expected. The motor run very slowly and the sound is not right.
When I test the PP using the application inside mach3 folder, it states "excellent connection".
It has nothing to do with the motor tuning, I have calibrated the axis and plaid with "velocity" & "acceleration".
I also found here on the forum that it is recommended to change the motor steps per revolution to 800 (I had 5000), it does turn a little faster, but still not as it should and the noise is not right.
It seems that changing the connection from 25khz to 100khz has no effect.
Any ideas are more than welcome either as a walk around, or a direct fix.
The reason for all this trouble is that I don't wish to have two separate computers, and when I run windows XP I am technically unable to do anything...
    Thanks again,
    Nir.

If you switch to external motion controller, Mach will be happy in VM.
Parallel port, even in VM will not work, as you have already discovered as Mach does not have control of Parallel port. Host machine is in full control of PP.
