Has anyone else had any issues with the LHB04B pendant? I see they are also sold at CNC4PC.com, just curious what others have experienced with this device? Does it operate well and work similar to a wired pendant or not?
I fiddled with this some more today. After editing your /etc/udev/rules.d file, the terminal command "xhc-whb04b-6" show find the device right out of the liveCD with no recompiles required. The "-u" option will print a hexdump of the communication between the computer and the pendant. "-p" prints only when you press or release a button and does not report on the wheel. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need some help with LinuxCNC and I'll muddle through with you.Congrats! I took your suggestion and d/l'ed LinuxCNC, got it installed and spent a few minutes with it. I was in the process of getting the LHB04B-4 setup when I realized that LinuxCNC doesn't support my USB BreakOutBoard - I would need to change to a parallel port driver, so I kind of stopped there. If I am going to swap out the BOB, I'll go with an ethernet model.
Keep us posted on your progress with the LHB04B-4. I like the hardware for the most part and I'm eager to see how yours turns out. Maybe I'll make the leap to linuxcnc after all.
