Default Stepper switching directions during jog

    All,

I am new to CNC/Mach3, and I have noticed something strange happening when I'm taking single steps in jog mode. I took a video of what it looks like on the non-driven side of my x-table: https://streamable.com/ftfflg

Note that this only happens when backlash compensation is enabled. Taking single 0.001" steps in one direction repeatedly causes the motor to reverse (like it was compensating for backlash when switching directions, which I did not tell it to do), and then do the same in the opposite (original) direction.

Any feedback would be immensely helpful!

    Cheers,
    IHateMayonnaise

Do you need to use the Backlash comp does it do the same without the backlash comp, backlash comp in Mach3 can be a problem if the number is too big
