I would not connect the enable, as the drives should work without it.
The most likely issue is the wrong port address.
What operating system are you using?
Hi chaps. I am stuck trying to get mach3 to function. This is a new machine and system. I have Mach 3 installed and running. This goes to the HG08 breakout board using the printer port., the stepper drivers are DM860A units. With the following inputs pul+,pul-,dir+,dir-,Enbl+, enbl-. The motors are nema 24. At the moment I don’t know if I should wire the enbl inputs. I have all green leds on power up but no movement at the motors. I have set the ports and pins as per the cnc4you web site. But it’s not working. I know that finding the correct ports and pins is a pain. What am I doing wrong and how can I correct it. Thanks, michael

hi, i am using 32 bit windows 7. i do think it is ports and pins but is there a way of finding out which are the correct ones to use. as its a pain in the ass to find them if at all.
Who wired the machine? You need to trace the wires to find out which ones are being used.
I find it hard to believe that your pin numbers are so wrong that nothing works at all.

Hard to believe or not, nothing is moving. Tomorrow I am going to start over again off the machine and with only one axis. This should show up faults better. Will post tomorrow on result.
Just an update. I have set up on a second pc also 32bit windows 7. The breakout board is a HG08 from cnc4you. The stepper driver is from the same outlet. The motor is a nema 16. I have set up the pins and ports again as per the guide. This time I have the green led solid on the stepper driver but also a flashing red led. There is no movement of the motor. What is going wrong here.
You don't need the enable inputs.
Are you in the UK, where?
Can you upload your mach3 profile (may need to save it as a txt file)
