Default adding a 4th axis, need to confirm a couple things

ok, so i currently have a 3 axis setup on mach3. im using a g540 and ethernet smoothstepper. i have dual motor x drive so A axis is slaved to X. because of this, all 4 ports of g540 are being used. for the 4th axis i purchased a breakout board that will connect to smoothstepper through second port and a g251x single drive. couple questions, i will have my 4th oriented on the x axis which means my 4th will be A axis, correct? does this mean i should move my slaved X axis (currently on A) over to B so A can be my 4th? Once i have the new BOB plugged into second port of ESS, g251 wired to that, is there anything else i need to do in mach3 to enable my 4th? obviously steps per unit, motor tuning, direction, anything else? thanks

nevermind. figured it out. moved x slave to b whether it was needed or not. what really threw me for a loop was that i wasnt getting any step/dir output from either port 2 or 3 on ESS. finally decided to look at ESS configuration settings and there were 2 little check boxes to make pin 1-9 on both port 2 and 3 inputs rather than outputs. unchecked them and all is good now. rotary is turning
