I ended up finding a used computer on craigslist that had Win 7 installed. It's been working fine.

If you add a motion controller like a UC100, you can run Mach3 on any modern PC.

I just brought a RCA tablet to try, has the latest Windows 10 on it, with the UC100 works like a charm, I loaded the Mach3 software and the UC100 plugin onto a Micro SD card which this tablet has a slot for

I will add other controls as well to see how far we can take one of these Tablets

Buy one of these and use any PCI-e slot:

Most of the computers with the PCI-e slot are not supported for running cnc control software, about 1 in 10 you may get to work, so in other words don't waste your time, people have had plenty of time to change from Parallel port computers

There is still mother boards out there to build a new computer if someone needed to have a Parallel Port, they are easy to build a simple computer like this

Any source for this other than the top of your head?

Yeah, I believe you're thinking of USB based parallel adapters.

Not at all, I build computers for machine controls I know what works and what does not

Most are using lap top for there machine control, which some have Parallel Express Card port, this also is a problem, more so than using a PCI card as you suggest

Well, I'm sure there are a lot of weird drivers with weird compatibility issues, out there. I didn't mean to say that you don't know your stuff. But as far as Mach 3 and PCI-e parallel cards goes, I still maintain there shouldn't be any incompatibilities, as long as the card supports EPP.

I also agree: "people have had plenty of time to change from Parallel port computers." There are better ways now.
