I purchased a bespoke CNC table with a Hypertherm Powermax 45XP last year, the guy who built it for me is no longer trading, I heard via a contact that he's been ill.

The original computer died so I replaced it with a faster machine, at first all seemed fine, but recently the torch fires then goes out before it moves.

This doesn't happen every time, maybe two out of three.

This happens on .9mm mild steel (which I use all the time), machine set at 30 amps.

I'm using Mach3 THC with scriber.

The torch head seems very close to the material, almost touching, I'm sure it never used to be quite so close.

If I put another piece of .9mm steel at the piercing point, the torch stays lit and cuts nicely.

As you might have guessed, I know how to use the machine, but nothing else about it's setup, can anyone advise what to do / try.

Many thanks in advance for any help advice offered.
