MACH3 MachTurn not picking up "Index" on mini lathe

I recently purchased a Harbor Freight Mini Lathe that someone converted and I am wanting to get a spindle index/tach set up to cut threads, etc.
It is using Mach3 with a Gecko 540 running through a UCC100.
I purchased a C3 Index pulse card and wired it in according to the diagram in the description. It has its own 5v power supply. When I turn the spindle, the LED on the card blinks properly. But I can't get it to pick up the index in Mach Turn. I have the output on the card wired to the #1 pin on the Gecko. I have made the Index active in MachTurn on Port 1 Pin 10 (diagram indicates that Pin 1 on Gecko is Pin 10) but when I go to the diagnostic page and roll the spindle around the "Index" light doesn't light up.
Would anyone have any input on what I may be overlooking?

Is there an actual sensor on the Spindle for the card to read?.

Yes, put an index pulse card with slotted disc for pick up, I have just found out that UC100 doesn't support Index in Mach 3 turn. Looking into a wire around for that now. Any ideas?
