Overall status of Mach4?

I'm tying to evaluate the status of Mach4.

Overall is it being actively supported by the developers? Such as bugfixes and releases?
( I looked on their website and couldn't find information about the dates of past release or updates and bugfixes. I thought this was standard for professional software, so i am not encouraged)

For simple 2 1/2D and 3D machining is it stable?

Hi,
I've been using Mach4 for six plus years and it works well.

Mach4 builds are released regularly, possibly monthly if not more and each has a release note. The releases are on an ftp site, and are generally
not visible on the main website.

From the main page click on Downloads & Updates, Mach4 Downloads, scroll down to FTP Server, then to Mach4, then to Development Versions.

That's a lot of updating!.
Must constantly need bug fixing!

Is that why so many are clinging on to Mach 3?

Mach3 has just as many - https://www.machsupport.com/ftp/Mach3/

Some are bug fixes, some are improvements, some are just tweaks. I'd rather see lots of development versions as opposed to trying to use something that doesn't work. I haven't updated Mach4 in over a year because it's working just fine as is but I may do an update soon. Every time I've installed a new development version I've seen something new that I like, fwiw.
