Default Purchasing a new CNC Router, vendor provides Mach3 profile. Usable in Mach4?

All, I am a relative noob. I have spent the last year using an X-Carve with Universal G-Code Sender. I am getting a 4x8 CNC and the vendor provides a Mach3 profile for use with the machine. Can the Mach 3 profile be converted to Mach 4?

I figure If ArtSoft is moving ahead with Mach 4 (and I have no previous experience with Mach 3), I might as well learn on the new software. I'd rather not pay for Mach 3, then turn around and purchase Mach 4 later.

Your thoughts? Can I take the profile the vendor gives me and use it with Mach4?

No, Mach4 is completely different than Mach3, and can not use a Mach3 profile.
And there's a good chance that the Mach3 motion controller that comes with the machine will not work with Mach4 either. I've only heard of one chinese motion controller that works with Mach4, and I've heard that it doesn't work very well.

I was going to use the UC100 USB motion controller. Thanks for your input, probably saved me some money.

Yes, the UC100 will work with Mach4.
If you're using the UC100, consider UCCNC, which is only $60, and is imo superior to Mach3.

For a 4x8 router, consider using a UC400ETH or UC300ETH, which provide a lot more inputs and outputs for only a little more money.

    Mach4 is totally different than mach3 .

As Gerry said , you can use uc300 with its own software instead mach .
