Default Lathe tool and work offsets

Hi, I have converted a lathe to cnc, and I am a bit stuck,it is to do with setting the tools on the lathe. I was watching a guy on you tube and he was setting his tools on x and y, he set them all up and numbered them and put them in his tool table. When he set them up or touched them off, he was using a piece of 1/2" stock in his chuck. The question I have is, if you were going to use a piece of say 1" stock for something, would you have to set them all again because of the different stock size ?. Don't laugh I am still learning all this

...no, when Tool Offsets are setup correctly...... Also, rememeber Lathes use X and Z axis not X/Y....you can read more about Tool Touch Off in section 4 Lathe User Information

Hi, thanks for your reply...that has helped me quite a lot. X and Z, yes I hit Y for some reason and not Z.
