I've bought hgh25 lineqr bearings with z0 preload ie. no preload at all and I don't like the feel of them; the machine I'm building is heavy steel structure and I think the bearings would be the weakest link.
Since I can't source pre-loaded bearings in my country I'm thinking of doing it myself. But I'm a bit suspicious that the process is as easy as just putting bigger balls.
I can't find anyone doing this on the internet and I can't think of why? I lot of people are doing it with their ballscrew nuts...
I haven't measured the balls yet, but I can't find how much bigger the balls are on the z1 and z2 preload bearings. Do you have any info on this?
