Do double ballnut diy setup increases Dynamic and Static Rating load?
Hi!
If I do a double ballnut setup (using two single ballnuts) , back to back, does it changes the dynamic and static load properties of a single ballnut/ballscrew system?
What happens physically (or practically) to a double ballnut diy system, besides reducing backlash? Increases wear? Makes it more... stiff, rigid?

I put a double ballnut on my Z driving a spindle double the weight. But it wasn't two back to back, it was one with the mounting flange connected to a nut without the flange. Connected by two strips of 1.2mm steel.
It was most certainly more difficult to rotate. Had absolutely no backlash. Took 50mm of travel out of my Z. But I am pleased I put it there.
My view is anything you can do to increase or improve a diy machine has to be good.

I suppose double ballnut is often used on Z axis because it usually holds heavy static/dynamic load on its shoulders. Double count of balls means double ground contact and half of pressure per ball. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
