    Default Enquiry about CNC router

    Hello!
Is there a necessity for the size of the ball screw to match with the model of the linear profile guide?
For example if the ball screw dia is 12 mm, should the linear guide rail be of 12mm wide too?

No. The ball screw needs to get thicker as it gets longer, or it will tend to "whip", which introduces resonance and shaking, and can distort the screw in extreme cases. Linear guides need to get wider if the loads increase, so a heavy machine used for cutting hard materials will need a wider profile rail than a lighter one used for soft materials.
