I'm preparing myself to modify one 15 year old laser, similar to yours, taking out PCI card from computer and make a BOB for STM32 GRBL, controlled with LightBurn.
Connection will be over USB.
Hi
I have a generic looking 50w Co2 Chinese Laser, with 900x600mm cut area that was bought cheap due to a lack of funds (regrettably). The seller said it was 10 years old, but I think it may be much older.
It would be good to upgrade the control board and software as the capabilities are very limited and it's unreliable.
It runs Win 7, it has a special board in the PC as well as a USB dongle and the cable plugs are bigger than a Parallel port.
The software will only open some DXF and basic BMP files so it's pretty useless.
The control panel has an amp meter & E stop.
It has 2 regular looking leadshine stepper drivers and 2 PSUs and assume the control board is integral with the PC, as there isn't one in the machine.
So, i'd like to upgrade the control board, run newer software and a USB cable.
What's my best option mid price option?
Thanks in advance
