Default Issue with my Laser cutter..

    Hi

I'm new on here and hopefully someone form this amazing resource of knowledge/experience can shed light onto an issue with my generic 6090 chinese laser cutter?

Basically...I'm running a Ruida RCD 6442 s(EG) controller- laser just stopped halfway through a an engraving job with laser Head staying put in position.

    No alarm sound.
Think poss reboot- switch off then on - screen message "connecting to controller" just stays like that, no initialising.

    Check inside..

Controls board - just Led 15 lit, Led 14 not lit.

    Green lights on X & Y drivers

Water chillers appears ok - water flowing etc.

    Test Fire PSU - nothing

Not sure if PSU has green LED until it fires, fan is working.

Has been cold in the studio (UK) but I always heat the space up prior to using the machine and it had been working all day - stopped at 3.30pm.
Wasn't sure if temp can effect controllers etc.

Thinking if 14Led not lit.. flow sensor issue... but no alarm and seems to be working fine?

    Appreciate you're help.

    thanks

    Si

    Hello,

You have a pretty good description of the status, but did not say anything about a blinking light.

Look at the controller. Is one of the lights blinking. If not... Your controller is locked up.

You might be able to reboot and install a new project. .. or new firmware.

    Hi.
You could check that the controller is properly grounded. If it does not have good grounding it produces random errors until it ends up burning.
The Chinese try to save on everything! sometimes they do not put the wires to the ground.

    Good Luck!

I had exactly the same problem mid job. "connecting to controller" and it fails & reboots, and repeats.
Leds #3 & 15 are lit when it squeals.
