    Default Larken Router Models

I have a 2424 Camtool router from larken which works great. I see Larken has added to new models to its line, a small 15x15 and a 50x50.

What's the real deal with Larken? I have attempted to contact Larry there, but just get the runaround. Have sent him e mails but stll no response. I guess I am thinking twice about a Larken router.......

Talked to Larry a couple of days ago. StarCam will not be available
to the general public until approx. the end of November. We use
LCam software on both our homebuilt tables in our sign shop
with great results. If StarCam is as user friendly and efficient
as their DOS based software, it's going to be a winner!

You can download the new StarCam at larkens website www.LarkenCNC.com
It consists of 2 programs, the StarCam graphical Importing, editing and Layout frontend, and the StarCNC spooler that sends to the processor in the control box.
    Check it out.

I have installed a Larken 4'x8' table using the older DOS ver, Larry was talking about using servo's on the later WIN ver, Is he doing that?
I know from experience Larry can be frustratingly elusive sometime's.

You Guy's that are running Starcam, are you running it on an older Lcam machine or just in simulation? Larry mentioned that it will need a hardware upgrade before I run it on the older dos version.

The older version does require a hardware upgrade to the controller box itself.

Maybe this guy is dialing the wrong number. I have talked with Larry many times with helping us get our machine up and running and a couple tech problems and have always had no problems. In fact I normally have to have him repeat stuff a couple times. He knows his products so well that he just rolls right threw it.

I can't speak for all of there machines but the one we have is a 6x10 and it's a tank. It is built very well and works very good. It seems to me, because of the size of the company, everything is designed and build by them you can get all info from the same place. Larry is very helpful wether its operator error or there happens to be a problem with the machine. If our company was in need of another machine I would buy another Larken.
    Just my 2 cents.

    I have just bought a used 24x24.

I have e-amied Larry several times and he has been very helpful to me.

The machine is soundly built - not at all cheaply built

I got to cut some wood yesterday - and it cuts very nicely.

I am still learning the machine, and there are still a couple of issues to work through.

    Two things for sure.
    1) Larry is there and he is helpful
    2) The machine is well made.

To me those tos things are very important. Quality and service.

No I don't work for Larken - I am just impressed with them.

    Leo
