    Default Anilam Encoder/ scales wiring

I have a Lagun ftv2 that originally had a crusader M cnc unit on it but the previous owner removed it, along with just cutting the wiring to the Anilam A2 scales on it. I contacted Accurite for a pin out / wire color conversion to a dsub9 but what I was given doesn't work. Can anyone help with this?

Also, this machine didn't come with a drawbar (just a plate over the area where it would). I'd like to add one to it, as I don't like the locking collar that's on it. If anyone has the manual or parts list for the ftv2 I would greatly appreciate it.

It could be that the scales are damaged and just don't work. What are you trying to connect them to?

It's pretty easy to make a draw bar. The really easy way is to buy a stick of B7 or Grade 8 all thread of the proper thread, and just cut to length.

Trying to connect them to just a cheap 3-axis DRO. You might be right about them not working but I'd still like to try and keep them. I know they originally had a round 7 pole aviation connector.

The drawbar isn't the issue. I need to determine if there are anymore pieces missing or added because this machine didn't have a drawbar ever.

What are the wire colors that you have? Maybe a part # on the scale? I'm pretty sure that Anilam scales used 5V quadrature output and a 5 micron resolution, so should be compatible with most modern DRO's

The only parts I have ever seen in a drawbar is the screw, the top nut (pinned to the screw), and a washer. The drawbar just contacts the top of the spindle. Not all spindles have the through hole for the drawbar. I have seen some #30 and #40 spindles, when equipped with a quick change nose, that did not have the through hole.

Thanks for the info on the drawbar. I'll have to look at the head and check for the through hole.

This is the only label I can get to on the scales.

It's 9-wire + shielding. Red, blue, pink, green, brown, black, white, grey, yellow
