How big do you want to go? I have some plans for some pretty simple pulsejet and ramjet engines. I think they were meant for an ultralight helicopter or autogyro or something. They are bigger than those for model airplane use, but a lot cruder and less refined - simple to make though. The pulsejet will power a moped or kart frame quite nicely if you just want to wake the neighborhood while skipping the aircraft part!

Thumbs up HURRICANE PLANS BEING PUBLISHED IN MAGAZINE

AUSTRALIAN MODEL ENGINEERING MAGAZINE IS PUBLISHING PLANS AND AND AN EXCELLENT SERIES OF ARTICLES ON THE BUILD PROCESS OF THE HURRICANE MODEL GAS TURBINE. I HAVE SUBCRIBED TO THE MAG AND ORDERED THE BACK ISSUES JUST FOR THE PLANS AND BUILD ARTICLES. YOU'LL NEED PUBLICATION 135 ONWARDS. WOULD APPEAR THAT IT IS A RECENT DESIGN IMPROVEMENT ON A PROVEN UK DESIGN.
WEB SITE FOR MAGAZINE is http://www.ameng.com.au
UNFORTUNATLY THE WEBSITE DOESNT GIVE ANY DETAIL ON THE ARTICLE BUT I'M SURE IF YOU EMAILED THEM THEY WOULD PROVIDE MORE DETAIL TO HELP YOU DECIDE IF IT'S WORTH THE PURCHASE. HAVING NOW READ THROUGH IN DETAIL THE BUILD PROCESS I CAN SAY THAT PLANS ALONE ARE INSUFFICIENT FOR EVEN AN EXPERIENCED MACHINIST IF YOU WISH TO BUILD A TURBINE WITH ACCEPTABLE THRUST/WEIGHT AND THAT'LL HAVE AN ACCEPTABLE SERVICABLE LIFE BETWEEN REBUILDS. IMPORTANTLY CASTINGS FOR THE GUIDE VANE AND TURBINE WHEEL ARE NOW AVAILABLE FROM EUROPE AND AUSTRALIA AT WHAT APPEARS TO ME TO BE REASONABLE PRICES. COMPRESSOR WHEEL IS STND GARRET TURBO COMPONENT AVAILABLE WORLDWIDE

HOPE THIS HELPS IN YOU'RE RESEARCH

I just want to say thanks for allowing me to be part of this cnc forum. I am a self taught machinist. I have not posted because I have had nothing to add but I have learned a lot just by reading. I am interested in model engines both steam and internal combustion. I was thrilled to fine sites here for plan that I feel I am capable to build. My hope is to learn enough to hand down my knowledge to my children and grandchildren. I am 67 years old. Thanks again.
