Default PMX 45 Voltage issue with Price AVHC10 THC

Hi Guys.. Hope that someone has experienced this same issue.

    PMX 45 Price Avhc10...

Had this up and running wonderfully for ages cutting everything from 1.2mm through to 12mm steel on the table with not an issue.

Suddenly i find that the voltage displayed on the AVHC generally starts off accurate and the unit is working say at 127V then all of a sudden mid cut the
displayed voltage will jump to 190v plus and the THC stops working.... If I watch the voltage reading closely it seams to flick back to the correct voltage momentarily
during the cut but on the whole does not work.....

Changed consumables. checked wiring , checked earth... Dont understand it

    Any ideas Guys????

    Thanks in advance

Sounds like a loose connection or a failing voltage divider or THC. You can verify the real output voltage with any plasma cutter by reading it with a voltmeter on the DC voltage scale, on a 300 volt range. The connections are the work cable (which is positive) and the electrode (negative) on the main power board inside the unit...the Powermax45 shows where to find these Raw voltage connections in the operators manual.

Do a test cut with the voltmeter connected as suggested....read the DC voltmeter, read the digital readout of your THC display, they should be the same. If there was something wrong with the actual arc voltage between work lead and electrode...the plasma cutter would not operate.

If your height control system uses the 50:1 voltage divider output (pins 5 and 6 in the CPC port), these will read 1/50th of the Raw voltage reading while cutting at a fixed height.

Another quick one Jim... what should the airstart raw arc voltage be on the pm45xp?
