    Default Thread Milling - Conventional - VMX-64 w/UltiMAX 4

We have never done any thread milling before.

I have looked over some old posts but still have questions.

We are planning on making M37-1.5 Nuts .3125 Thick

We have a Kennametal Thread Milling cutter TM25D81L150Z3 and it takes 3 InsertsTM25N150ISO
They are 25 MM Long with 1.5 Pitch

1st thing is: Should I tell the Controller it is a Tap or an End Mill?
There is no thread Mill option for tool type

I know from what I have seen in posts: Helix is the key to getting it programed.

I have seen posts that say to Not use Tool Comp and some that say to use Tool Comp

Any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated

I can literally email you an Ultimax program that would work for this if you don't have a solution yet.. or I could
teach you how to program threadmilling on ultimax. I run a
Vmx64 but I have winmax.. though I have plenty of experience
With ultimax. My email is minteehippo920@gmail.com if you
Want some help. Also if you have it figured already... I still would highly recommend a piece of software called
"METHREADPAL" I'm pretty sure it's free and it's a very useful program for calculating almost any aspect of any a pacific tolerance to any feature of any thread in any class/type.

Have you gotten this sorted yet? I'd be glad to help if you still need it.
