VMX42 Communication Ports
Hi
I need to set up a DNC link to my Hurco VMX 42 (2005 build), there are two RS232 Port on the control cabinet, Port 1 when I trace it back to the computer is not connected, see photo, so I connected to port 2 but still DNC is not working.
I have checked the settings and wiring of the pins and all seem to be OK baud rates etc as per manual.
Do ports one and two do the same thing or should I be using port one only, if port one is the correct one where does the flat cable plug into?
Best regards
Burgs

Re: VMX42 Communication Ports
Hi
All sorted found where the cable went with help from Hurco Singapore techs they also sent through parameters and it turned out that one of the parameters was not right changed it and away we go.
Now may have a look at the ethernet connection as it seems to have a bit more of an advantage if I am reading the manuals correct, such as down loading Files?
Sounds like the card is there but have to connect a cable from the socket to the card?
Haven't tried down loading the conversational programs yet not sure if I should use port two and set up DNC on another port on the computer?
Best regards

Hello Burgs
Yes Ethernet his way better if you have the hardware installed.
I think you need to have the ultinet option...
Assuming you have...
what i did was i setup a wifi connection between PC and Machine.
I had an old fritzboz router seating around(you can use other ) and connected closer to the machine and connected to the Computer via wifi.
I am using filezilla to file download since then without any problems.
I will try to post some photos of the ethernet card as it seats on my machine (VMX24S/2007).
