HT20S2 X Axis Accuracy problem
Hello everyone.
I do have a ht20s2 with yasnax lx3bt controller.
The accuracy of the machine x-axis is at +-0.02 mm which is very Bad for most of the parts i do.
I already checked the encode, switched the Motors from Z and X Axis. Also switched only the encoder.
I also checked the backslash which seems to be good.
Another problem in connection to the accuracy is when changing the X-axis tool wear. Lets say my diameter is 20.01mm and i want 20.00mm i am doing a tool length change for the X-axis of 0.01mm. But the part just stays the same or it just jumps to a different value like 19.98 or 20.03.
I also checked the turret positioning accuracy which is fine.
The only thing i am thinking of are the x-axis linear rails. Can the play in the rails be adjusted?
Maybe someone can help me out. I am from Germany by the way.
Thanks for the help.

Re: HT20S2 X Axis Accuracy problem
Just a shot in the dark but I had a problem with my KV turret machine that had symptoms like this when the tools weren't being clamped fully. The clamp/unclamp hydraulic cylinder became stuck and wouldn't travel all the way back. This caused the tool holders to not clamp fully. I made a whole run of parts (with threads!) like this and couldn't figure out why they were so inconsistent. It took a lot of force to see the holder move.
Rebuilding the cylinder was the fix.
In terms of linear rails, pretty sure they are a throw-away item. The Hitachi parts manual lists them from the actual manufacturer so you don't need to rely on a dead company (IIRC).
Good luck
