What is the SL Bus?

Hello - We have a Hitachi Seiki Horz machining center. The other day was started getting an SL Bus error on machine power up. I did some checking and found a 24 volt short in a switch. We hoped that would solve this issue. But I has not. The machine has a Seicos (sigma) 10 control on it. I have not been alble to really find anything help about this error. It looks like something in the I/O system has failed, but I do not know if this failure is in the controller or in the machine. Any information would be helpful.
