My Hitachi vm50 got Orange screen , machine was staying idle then suddenly black screen appeared and everything was shutdown. Is it something with graphic card ,or LCD ? Or its the NC Control that is down?

    Hello all,

I have solve all of my machine alarms. Now the machine is ready and reference manually. But now the problem is when I command for reference machine value and absolute value make difference and axis is not reach at it's reference position.
Example of machine value is 359.120
Then absolute value is 35.9120 after moving 35.9120 mm machine shows alarm axis in not at reference position

Yes, 9000 parameters are loaded, but apparently not the helical option. I don't know which parameter or bit controls
helical. Worked fine before losing parameters.

I HAD a VM40 and the Seikos control was based on a Yasnac, it was mid 80s so maybe an MX-3, would the parameter list be the same on both controls? I'm looking for the parameter list for the MX-3 as I picked up an older machine and want to find out what options it has and what are available.

    Hi all,
I have a Hitachi Seiki VM40 and I want to redo the electronics, so the plan is to replace X, Y & Z drive motors and drives and only keep the current spindle and spindle drive which are Fanuc, the motor is A06B-1003-B300 and the Control unit is A06B-6044-H103. I am not fused about being able to tap and cut threads so if someone could suggest a simpler spindle I would be happy to change. Sadly I don't have any circuit diagrams as I had someone else helping and they dropped off the edge of the world with my books.
Plan is to use Centroid equipment were possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Tony

Do You have separate driver for each motor ? Or there is 3 in 1 driver for all the Motors? We want to do same thing with vm50 but can't find any info about the Asus drive unit and if it wasn't bad enough its connected through spindle drive... If there are separate drivers and they are fanuc IT should be easy to obtain the info about signals and using something like cslab csmio get machine working with existing drivers and Motors. If I You try search on Google "vm40 Linux CNC ", there is a thread of the guy who got one fully retrofitted using Linux CNC and mesa cards. We are propably will go with new servomotors if we can' find drivers for fanucs installed in machine.

The guy that did the Linux is the guy that let me don't and has my books.
Each axis has its own drive and a Sayno Denki motor, its only the spindle that is Fanuc. Give how cheap Servo motors have become its worth just replacing with something new unless I can get new drivers and new encoder fitted to the old motors
