Default Hitachi VK45 won't run in AUTO mode

    Machine specs:
    VK45 (Seicos M II) Micon 16 Version 5.0 Seicos M0290

Ya'll may have noticed from my prior post that I had a problem with the Fanuc spindle drive on my machine. Well after months of trying to get it working I finally sent the entire unit in for rebuild. It is now installed in the machine.

During all the messing around, occasionally the Fanuc drive would power up with no error. But something new began to happen that I had hoped was related to the spindle drive problem. The mill would not execute a program in AUTO mode. I thought perhaps the drive unit was not sending out a "ready" signal or something because of it's problems.

Well $2000 dollars later, I have a rebuild Fanuc spindle drive installed in the VK45 that the rebuilder claims is working great but still no AUTO execution.

Something simple like the following will hang with no error on line 102. All commands in MIDI mode work fine.

The machine seems to be waiting for something but I don't know what. It is as if I had hit feed hold.
There are several screens of "diagnostic" information I can view, perhaps something in there that would indicate if a sensor or something is not reporting. Right now, I have no idea where to begin.
Note: both my load and speed meter indicate when the spindle is running, they are both analog gages and my status screen only shows the last speed and direction command given.

    Dancy,

is your machine equipped with any type of safety system other than the normal things?

I have my machine up and running in Auto again. My thanks to Chris Hoffman of Hoffman machine and Jeff Kale of Cyber CNC.
Chris remembered seeing something like this problem once years ago and it turns out that my SVIF board was too far out of adjustment so the cure only required tweaking of the variable resistors on that board.

If anyone else encounters this problem please let me know and I will right up the procedure

    Dancy.
