    Hello

    I have to mill a cone borehole at a DMU100T (without rotary table). Is it possible?

    I have already searched for a possibility to do it but without success. I’ve been working at the machine for a not really long time.

    The cone has to be 1:30, diameter 70mm – 67,44mm, 77mm long.

    It would be nice if someone could help.

    Greetings

    Mike

    Well… I’m not really familiar with this topic but there’s a possibility that I would take into account…

    (Input elements)
    E50=70 (diameter at the top)
    E60=67.44 (diameter at the bottom)
    E70=77 (height cone)
    E80=1 (roughness of the surface 0.05=smooth, 5=rough)
    (E80 is depth covering)

    (Calculation elements)
    E40=(E50-E60)/2
    E41=E40/E70*E80
    E1=E50/2
    E2=E41
    E3=E80
    E4=E70
    E5=E4/E3 (results number of replications)

    (Milling)
    N1 G0 X0 Y0 Z2
    N2 F100
    N3 G1 Z0
    N4 G41
    N5 G61 X=0-E1 Y0 R1 I1=1 I2=0
    N6 G3 X=0-E1 Y0 I0 J0
    N7 E1=E1-E2
    N8 G40
    N9 G1 X0 Y0
    N10 G91
    N11 G1 Z=0-E3
    N12 G90
    N13 G14 J=E5 N1=4 N2=12

    The whole thing is calculated with a 40th milling cutter. Certainly, it can be extended according to your needs. For example, multiple sections (if a smaller cutter is used), helix covering etc.

    I’d like to add something else… Probably, it also can be made with scaling. But I think the solution above is a better one.
