Default Harrison Alpha 400 software issues

    Hey everyone,

I have some questions about the Harrison Alpha 400 lathe and the software.
Since we have the lathe we have never used the Alpha Link software. Now after a lot of years i took the task on me to get the cam package working but I've encountered some problems.

I'm using Windows 7 on the desktop and the Alpha Link software is a DOS vintage package. Because win7 no longer supports programs that old i tried using Virtual Machines running DOS / Win 3.1 / Win 98 and it had been a pain in the butt to even get the programs to boot.

I read here that there is an updated version of the software? Does Alpha Win work on windows 7 and if so, is there anywhere i can get the Disk or even an ISO.
or is there an even newer version that works?

The Alpha 400 lathe is build in 1998.

    Any help is much appreciated.

    Kind regards,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,
AlphaWin does run on Windows 7 but I think Superdraft use One CNC to support the alpha 400/500 range now.

You will have to check the version of software on the Alpha as this defines whether the windows version works, it will only work on version 3 Alphas
Easy way what is the version of Dos software you are using it is written on the front

We have Alpha link version 3.1. I saw on the Superdraft website that for 160 pounds we can buy the windows upgrade for this version.

This is a long shot, but anyone able to assist me with a copy of the Alphalink software, or advise what software I can use to operate an Alpha 400 as well as an Alpha 460 with Fanuc controls?

    Thank you.
