Conquest 42 Bar feeder wiring
I've been given the job of interfacing an SMW Spacesaver 2000 bar feeder to a Conquest 42 lathe. We currently have two of these bar feeders that I interfaced, so I'm familiar with the spacesaver.
I have no information on the Hardinge side of the interface.
Any info would be greatly appreciated
Thanks

Re: Conquest 42 Bar feeder wiring
Any luck with this? I am trying to get a T42 running that previously had a bar feeder attached to it but can't seem to locate the correct terminal/wiring that may need to be changed. I think I need to jump the estop wire circuits together but can't seem to find them.

Re: Conquest 42 Bar feeder wiring
Haven't found anything yet. Hardinge was going to send me a pinout but they apparently got my email address wrong, trying to make contact with them again.
I have an wiring diagram that came with the old barfeeder but the lathe side pinout is incomplete.

Hi Guys,
What year are your machines? I should have the drawings on file and can send them on.

The books I have for my Conquest 42 are all dated '88, can't find a date on the machine.

Re: Conquest 42 Bar feeder wiring
So I've physically traced the wires from the interface and identified them all. Now I have questions about a couple of them.
Here's what I've got;
Pins
1) 24vdc
2) no pin
3) EOB from bar feeder
4) no pin
5) Ground
6) Bar feeder ready signal
7) E-stop of velocity unit ( I'm assuming this is lathe estop )
8) 'Air Bar Pressure' ( is this the push signal? )
9) E-stop of velocity unit ( paired with pin 7 )
I'm wondering are pins 7 and 9 a NO/NC lathe estop circuit?
and is pin 8 the 'Push' signal?

Re: Conquest 42 Bar feeder wiring
I can now cycle the bf from the collet open signal.
I now need a place to put the bar feeder M finish signal.

Re: Conquest 42 Bar feeder wiring
So I ended up faking the bar feeder by simulating necessary signals with some relays.
