I only remember its one of their 5axis mills
and I dont know if they ever got the problems
resolved. You may want to speak to jimmy he still
works there. He usually hits the board towards the eve.

We are still having the same proplem as you are. The spindle grows about .003 in about 5 minutes. I will try to find out some info for you. I try to stay away from that machine. We also have a problem with the table win it rotates the centerpoint changes. I will try to help all I can.

Does anyone have any first hand experience evaluating the Haas Machining Centers for High Speed Machining. I would be machining mostly Aluminum, so hard material machining is not an issue. I realize that Makino and Yasda as mentioned earlier are well suited but I'm not considering them at this time. I would like to know what limitations the Haas would have concerning HSM.
    Thank you.

We use a Haas VF2 for machining graphite. We have had pretty good luck. If you would like some more info, please feel free to email me directly

SRT, HAAS will work nicely for the price. Do you have the HSM option with it?

    Rekd,
I Have Haas VMC, but not the HSM option. I was checking for imput on Haas because I'm looking to get HSM on my next machining center and I thought I read a forum some time back that said the speed of the Haas look ahead (or something?) wasn't very fast for HSM. I'm not sure what year (control version) they were referring to. I am looking new and used. Would you know what year or control version that Haas began to do HSM. Also since being able to do 4th axis work competitively, I'm now receiving drawings that a 5th axis would seem worth considering. Oh yes, what an endless cycle of spending money!

    MachineSMM,
Thanks for the offer, just wondering for now, do you use more than the 10,000 RPM spindle at the present time?

    You've got that right!

First you get good, then you get fast. Then grouchiness sets in.
