Man that is an awesome time. Your $50000 machine or less runs as fast as a $150000 machine. I am impressed. How well does it hold size? Have you had any trouble with the machine?

I've been very pleased with the machine. It's very tight and holds any tolerance I certainly need! Personally, I think it's incredible value for the money.

<Hi all, I ´m new to this forum and I´m in need for advice.
I´m working at a mouldmaker (multi-cavity;small parts) and we are searching for a good HSM machine with pallet system. We prefer Erowa system because we bought two second hand charmilles with erowa system(upc powerchuck). We have still 4 options in consideration.
All 3 axis machines, and mainly for finishing in hard materials (52Rc)

    Yasda:640v3:Hermle c600:Mikron hsm600MG evolution 70

We want a very accurate machine and therefore we seriously take yasda in consideration.

    And here come my questions.
-We need the machine very urgently and for the yasda we have to wait 6 months. Is this the normal delivery time?
-What options do you recommend for long time accurate milling?
    - Is Hsk 63 advisable on this machine? Or is the Mas better?
    - The control is fanuc. I ve only worked with h420. Does anyone sees difficulties with this change.

    Any help is appreciated. thx

I really would go with the Yasda at this point know a few mold companys using them for this. I like there Horz 5axis fun machine.

Any body tried the Matsuuras, they seem to specialise in HSM 5 axis machines , some with pallet change too.

    Hello.

I´m trying to decide wich Hard Milling Machine is better for us. We want to buy 2 five axis machine, and we are tryin to decide between Hermle C30, DMG V55, DMGV75 and Huron K2x8 Five. All of them with Heidenhein control.

Well I have read too many technichal Information, but all they seem great. But according to the last comments I understand now why Micron is cheaper. Actually we have 2 Hermle 800 with very good results, and DMg looks great.

Does anybody has experience with any of those machines?? I only know Hermle...

    Regards.

We also have a C800. We purchased a C40 a couple of years ago, and it has been a very good machine. The C30 I would expect to be just as good.

We were not as impressed with the DMG's we looked at, although they were still better than most everything else. In the end we stuck with Hermle, and we have not regretted it.

    Hope this helps,

    Dan

We are almost in the same position about Hermle, but DMG is offering a very good price. Is there any special reason because DMG does not look so great for you?

Well if you want the best quality out there then Yasda or Toyoda Mitsui Seiki should be considered. They will get the best accuracy over time and last longer too.
I know the Hermle and DMG use linear rails where as the Yasda and Mitsui are on box ways to minimise vibration and give a better finish.

One thing i've noticed the Hermle has the best swarf managment out there. It uses all stainless panels (nothoing to rust) and all the sliding axis are out of the machining area.
Plus it also has a high speed direct drive table so less parts to wear out. Just bearings to replace when the table gets worn.

Those machines will be used to produce forge dies and punches.

We pretend to configure them as a production cell. The target is to feed 2 warm forging and 4 cold forming presses. That's why I like DMG V55 which seems to be the faster one. I also saw micron HSM600U with pallet changer at a very atractive price, but due to the comments in this forum I need to think it twice.

Why is it that no company has a controller that functions like the Tornos Deco system, nothing faster, it is software driven so "features" can be upgraded with software updates, the software compiles the program and puts out only raw data to the machine, there isn't actually a controller on the machine and all you can do there is change the offsets, resulting in all programs always running in realtime and the machine never waiting for the system to compute.

I realize this post is really old but all the better to ask you how your SHIZOUKA SV-4024 Machining Center has held up in terms of reliability and such.

    thanks
