    Default Help with probing routine

    Hi All,

I'm using a Haas mini mill with a Renishaw probe and a second generation controller that I'd like to use to check for the width of a part and adjust the toolpath to cut a channel down the center no matter the part width. The parts are composites and coming out of molds so they vary in width by a small amount. I am fairly new to using probe routines and so far I've only been able to maneuver the probe to whatever position is needed using the protected moves and controller built in functions etc. I'm not sure if there is a built in routine that will do the correct action I'm looking for so I was looking for some insight. I need the probe to come down touch one side, then go over to the other side, touch off, grab those values and use them somehow to cut the channel down the center of the part. Thanks in advance everyone and Happy New Year.
