Default Recommended Safety Switch for Mini Mill

I am running single phase power to my Haas Mini Mill 2. Should I use a 2 pole or 3 pole switch? The mill is about 35 feet from the panel. Panel is in a different room.

If you only have single phase then depending on what country you live in, NA 2 Pole and Ground 60A supply, is all that is needed, but it may be cheaper to buy the 3 pole but only use ( 2 ) of the switched Poles

For NEC/CEC A disconnect separate to the main enclosure is allowed for machines with motors totaling 2HP or less, as long as it is within 20ft of the operator and within sight.

He does not even need a disconnect, as it is already built into his machine, so he can run direct from the Breaker to his machine

If that is the case it would simplify my install a little. I am in Ontario, btw.

Yes that is all you need, 6-2 Plus Ground cable will do what you need this will help with Amperage drop over the 35 feet

I have the same machines that run on single phase also

My new Mini Mill 2 is now installed and making chips. Used #6 wire. I was delayed for a while as I had trouble finding a Federal Pioneer breaker. Really happy with the mill. It is so much faster than my Pulsar or my buddy's Tormach 1100. Thanks to everyone for your help answering my questions.
