Default Changing to Ethernet on Haas mini mill and vf2 ?

Hey guys, we have a haas vf2 and also a mini mill that we have to use floppy disks with. Is there a way to change this on my own and be able to use ethernet from the computer to the machines or does haas have some sort of software block that makes this difficult to do? Tired of floppy drives, they always go bad and i always leave them in the machine when i need them back to the computer and vise versa. Thanks in advance!

Have you considered the USB adapters? I haven't used one but they seem to be pretty popular for the older machines.

I didn’t know about these but I’ll have to find that because usb sounds a lot more ideal than floppy disks

Here is one option. Search for RS232 to IP devices. Price vary widely used and new.

I installed a floppy to USB emulator in my HAAS Mini Mill and my VF-0E.
Both were plug and play and are still working perfect today.
You just have to buy a bunch of smaller USB sticks ($2 each) so you have spares.
And you have to format them to 750KB blocks.
I have the program if you need it.

Floppy to USB Converter, Floppy to USB Emulator, Floppy Disk Drive, Floppy Drive to USB

Are you wanting to stay with some type of floppy interface? Or use rs232? One factor is whether or not your machine supports the 115k rs232 rate.
