X axis goes into oscillation intermittently then will smooth out.
No mechanical bind, swapped command and feedback cables so i am running off of the y circuit, fault stays with x motor , swapped servo dives same fault, new cables and motor for x axis.
Any ideas on the problem.
I have no experience of the servo motors used on CNC machines ( only analogue lens servos !!)
as the fault stays with the motor
I would think its possible the problem may be you have a faulty encoder on the X axis motor
( possibly a problem reading the Least Significant Bit ? )
John
PS
If some one who repairs servos does not reply
you may have to call Haas for information on testing the motor & encoder
you will need detailed instructions for removing the encoder and re-align the encoder when its fitted back onto the motor
as its very easy to damage it
I guess we need more info. You say that you have swapped the amp and also swapped cables. Depending on where you swapped the cables, it could diagnose the problem. If you just swapped everything over to make the machine run X on the Y amp it just proves the amp isnt the problem. Now, if you actually swapped the cables at the Maincon or Mocon (depending on the age of the machine) it would narrow it down even more. What I mean is, swap the cables at the board so that when you want to jog X, you have to tell the machine to jog Y.
But, I am confused about the new motor and cables. Did the problem start AFTER the motor and cables were replaced OR was the new motor and cables an attempt to fix the problem? If the new motor and cables was done after the problem started, then you have a problem with the Mocon/Maincon. This can be verified by swapping the cables like I said above
