Sounds like a bad switch or bad switch adjustment.

We have a VF3 with intermitting tool unclamp alarm. The machine will run fine then all of a sudden it will alarm while the tool is cutting or sometimes if the machine is doing a tool change, sometimes the machine will run for three hours no problems. I cleaned all connections and replaced the lower draw bar limit switch still has the same problem.
We had other problems along the way as well.
Spindle overheat alarm without the spindle running at all. (fixed)
Tool clamp pre-charge solenoid acting up. (fixed)

I agree that it may likely be a bad switch. Unfortunately since it is very intermitten, it will be hard to troubleshoot accurately.
If it becomes more frequent, you can watch the clamp and unclamp switches in diagnostics to see if one of them flickers; bad switch.
You can also try tapping lightly on the switch bodies and watch diagnostics again to see if either one flickers.
Good luck!
on top of spindle Approach sensor need clean or adjust
Check the connection onto the board
Had this also with insufficient air pressure even if it didn't throw the low air alarm, tool changer arm would stall during tool change.
