With our system being a closed loop system it is constantly ramping up and down. Your spindle encoder belt may be loose. Add some tension to your encoder belt.
I have a VF 5 that has a high and low speed gearbox and runs at 10000rpm max, in low gear there is no noise. But when I run it in high gear only between 3000 rpm & 6000 rpm it makes a horrible noise. The funny thing is that when I use the spindle override and bump it up to 10% higher the noise goes away. the technician reckoned that one of the teeth on the high gear range was maybe chipped and that was what was causing the noise, but I am not convinced with his theory. Does anybody have a suggestion.

problem is definetly not caused by the spinle encoder belt. if you hear the noise you will agree with me
does the noise go away when you put a load on the gearbox in those rmps
Our machine with gearbox makes a strange chirping/squealing noise during certain RPM ranges, but much lower (like 1000-3500).
our HFO did quite a bit of analysis and back and forth with the factory before deciding it was because they switched to a cageless bearing in newer transmissions.
I thought it was BS as I'd never heard any Haas make that kind of noise (nor cageless bearing) but they offered to double the warranty on it so I gave up (this was after 2 transmission replacements to start with).
Use oil to the main axis..
I have MC108 Makino machine. High range speed not working. Low gear speed until 930 rpm working good and spindle leaking lubricant oil as well. Any suggestions??
Thank you
